THE SCULPTURE

Richard Sweeney was born in England in 1984. He studied at the School of Art & Design Batley in 2002. In addition, at the Metropolitan University of Manchester he specialized in three-dimensional design; there he concentrated on design models that eventually became sculptures. He makes hanging works, exhibitions and sometimes uses his work as architectural models. As can be seen in the works of Richard Sweeney, these fashionable designs seek continuity and the foldability of the material. The lightweight elements give an elegant appearance to the garments, while retaining a subtle appearance that is delicate through several articulated silhouettes.

The collection consists of ten styles of one or two garments each. All of them, although refined, aspire to be comfortable and light piece of daily use. The type of wardrobe is varied, these range from pants, skirts and shirts to simple dresses and other more elegant but always maintaining the distinguished style of a modern cosmopolitan woman. This line is suitable for both night and day, as long as it is in a remarkable environment. The garments can be used among them or combined with others achieving a more casual style. You will see continuously curves, lines and volumes that surround the body as an envelope. Two fabrics will be seen, one smooth and the other ironed, although the fall will vary, some more rigid and others lighter.

This feminine collection goes to the sophisticated adult woman. One that has a diligent life and commitments. The client of this line will look for a select style and will have a refined taste that goes hand in hand with her lifestyle. It will also aspire to a quality of excellence in the garment that is acquiring. These pieces will be presented as works of art. They will be exposed in exhibition halls and small independent clothing stores but renowned. They will also be for sale on an online page of the brand. Finally, with the intention of getting the pledge to the clientele and support worthy causes a part of the profits will be directed to nonprofit organizations.

The material with which the garments will be made will be of the highest quality. The fabric to be used will be organza one hundred percent white cotton. These will vary in structure depending on what we want to achieve with the garment. The trimmings will be as covered as possible to emphasize the continuity of the garment. In detail only invisible locks and small buttons hidden in some garments will be used. This project includes handmade illustrations of the designs painted digitally, a moodboard and some examples of specification sheets. The collection was design in 2018, under the supervision of  Professor Belén Larruy.
